Miss you card…

Today’s card was so much fun to make! I won a free stamp set through THE STAMPS OF LIFE a couple of months ago, and finally chose this one. It was in my mailbox today! It’s called SPINNER2STAMP and is actually a birthday set, but I decided to use The CRAYON2STAMP also made by THE STAMPS OF LIFE with it. Once the idea came to mind, it went together fast.  First I stamped and die cut the spinner and arrow.  It looked blah so I added the sequins to match the ink in each part of the spinner.  Then I added the flower to the center of the arrow.  I stamped the crayon and sentiment, and that was about it…. A finished product!  Simple, but cute:). I have lots of other ideas to do with this stamp and die set, so stay tuned!  Thanks for taking a minute to stop by today!  Have a wonderful weekend!

Thinking of you card

Today’s card I’m sharing with you is an encouragement one for a friend.  She is caring for her brother who is terminally ill:(. I absolutely love this stamp!  I bought it from a craft fair years ago.  After covering the front of the card with scrapbooking paper from COLORBOK, I diecut the decorative circle from SPELLBINDER.  I stamped my sentiment on it and adhered it to my card and added the butterflies using  my MARTHA STEWART punch.  Next, using the FLOWER PUNCH from EK, I punched out the flowers and used glue dots to place them around the sentiment.  I added the rhinestones and my card was complete!  It’s a simple card with the emphasis on the sentiment, which was exactly what I wanted to accomplish.  Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you liked my card!

Happy Birthday Card

February is a busy time in my family for birthdays.  Today I’m sharing with you a card that I made for my nephew.  The stamp and die set I used is called CANDLES4BIRTHDAY by THE STAMPS OF LIFE, and the little tag sentiment is also from THE STAMPS OF LIFE  called BANNERS4ALL.  I was going for a vintage/distressed look so I antiqued around the candles by sponging them with brown ink.  I found the scrapbook paper amongst my huge box of scraps, so I’m not sure which company it came from.  You never know what’s going to turn up if I dig deep enough!  Thanks so much for taking the time to look at my card!  I hope you liked it.  Feel free to leave me a comment.  Have a Marvelous Monday!

Java time card….

Got coffee? I don’t know about you, but my day never starts without a hot cup of coffee!  This is a fun card I made using THE STAMPS OF LIFE stamp set with matching die called COFFEE4TWO.  I like the color scheme of the hot pink and orange, it reminds me of spring or summer time.  Can you tell I’m completely over winter and snow?  It’s been way too snowy and cold for me!

The first thing I did to make this card was to tuck the pink doilie under the white card stock and glue it down.  Then I stamped and die cut the coffee cup.  I added the pink and orange twine, attached the tag and button and I was done.  This card would be perfect to give with a coffee gift card in it!  Thanks for taking a minute to stop by and take a look!  Have a relaxing Sunday, and maybe even make a card or two!

Happy birthday card

Today’s card is for a special little lady, my niece Maggie.  Tomorrow will be her birthday and this card is perfect for her because she loves roses, and has for as long as I can remember!  This triple flip it card die set you can find over at THE STAMPS OF LIFE.  I only used a few of the framelits, but it actually comes with 10 dies!  The stamps I used are made by THE STAMPS OF LIFE too.  They are from the set BIRTHDAY4COOKIE.  I almost forgot… The flower is from THE STAMPS OF LIFE too in the TRIPlIT SET.  Quick and easy!  Have a fantastic Friday!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Smell the Roses Card

Hello and happy Thursday!  Phew, the days are flying by, especially when you’re on February vacation!  The card I’m sharing today is a great reminder for all.  slow down and enjoy life!  This card was super easy and quick to make. I layered the green on to the card base and then the floral rose paper.  The floral paper is from COLORBOK called SIGNATURE HOMESPUN.  I tied the vintage lace on, and was on to stamping.  The stamp is made by STUDIO G. I punched the sentiment out using a tag punch and cut the green layer out by hand, I felt it was just too plain alone.  The butterflies are from a MARTHA STEWART punch embellished with gems.  Now it’s time for me to slow down and relax with a hot cup of coffee!  I hope you liked my card, and you too take some deep breaths and slow down!  Thanks for stopping by today and taking a look!

Thinking of you card

Today’s card is one of my favorites to make, shabby chic!  I love the look of shabby chic, whether it be cards, scrapbooks or even home decor.  There’s not a whole lot of stamping  happening on this card, but I like the different textures and layers. The first thing I did was adhere the floral paper on to my card. The paper is from COLORBOK called SIGNATURE HOMESPUN. Next I embossed the red piece in my PROVO CRAFT folder and attached it.  I used my SIZZIX border for a trim and added the pearls in the center.  Next came the hardest part….the sentiment and frame is made by THE STAMPS OF LIFE, but after stamping and embossing it, I struggled with where to place it on the card.  After moving it here, there and everywhere I settled, but still wasn’t totally thrilled. By now I was getting frustrated and ready to just throw the whole thing away and start over!  Then I punched out the flowers and put them on the side of the sentiment.  Finally I was satisfied….sometimes you just have one of those days, but I’m happy I didn’t throw the card away and thought of adding the flowers.  I think it came out really pretty!  Thanks for taking a look:) Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Encouragement card

Today’s card is another version of a banner card.  I have a friend who is going through some struggles at the moment, and thought this card would be perfect for her.  The stamp set is from THE STAMPS OF LIFE along with the triplet set of flower dies. The patterned paper is by COLORBOK.  It was a fast and easy card to make!  First I adhered the pattern paper to my card, then cut the next layer of white using my SPELLBINDER die.  Next I stamped the sentiments and cut out the banner and triplet flowers.  After gluing all the pieces down I felt the flower needed a little something more…. So I got out my tiny flower punch and added it to the flower along with a tiny pearl.  From start to finish it took about 10 minutes!  I love how it turned out and hope it will brighten my friend’s day:)  Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you liked my card!

You are so kind….

These days banners seem to be a huge part of card and scrapbook making.  I have to say I positively love them!   The set I used today was actually a Christmas present from my husband, with a few hints along the way. (Wink, wink…) It’s made by The Stamps of Life and is called chalksayings2stamp.  First   I cut the cover of my card using my Spellbinder die. Next I stamped the banner, die cut it and adhered it to the card.  Then came the sentiment below it.  The lacy border is from Sizzix that I embellished with pearls.  The flower stamp is from Purple Daisy and comes with a coordinating punch.  I bought it years ago at a craft fair and had forgotten all about it.  I’m going to have to use it more often, I like it!  Thanks so much for stopping by today, I appreciate your time and interest:)

Looking for summer time….

Well, here in New England we had another foot of snow fall over night!  I’m trying to picture myself in my “happy place” which would be anywhere where there is sun and warmth!  That’s not happening here considering we’re in the single digits more often than not!  Needless to say, today’s snowy and cold weather is where I got my inspiration from.

To make this card I first stamped the flip flops using The Stamps of Life stamps, then cut them out and embellished them.  I used my flower  punches from Marvey, Recollections and Fiskars. Next I cut my base of the card using Spellbinders paper pierced rectangle die set. wow!  Now that’s a mouthful to say:)  I attached the baker’s twine to the base using glue dots and then used clothes pins to attach the flip flops.  Next I added my sentiment by Inkadoo.  I absolutely LOVE, LOVE this quote!  It totally fits this New England weather!  I finished by adding the flowers in the corner and adhering the base to the grey card. I’m happy with the way it turned out.  I hope you like it too.  Thanks so much for stopping by today!
