‘Shake Up’ a Happy Birthday

Hello!  Phew…Thursday already!  How do these days fly by so fast?  I’m not liking it at all, summer will be gone before we know it!  (HUGE SIGH…) It’s a hot day here today, so I’m in my air conditioned craft room making some cards.

Today I have a fun and bright birthday card to share with you.  I needed to make a birthday card and have been wanting to make a ‘shaker’ card for a while, so I decided today’s card would be just that kind. I used to make and see shaker cards everywhere, then they kind of went away, and now they are back!  I have always loved them and enjoyed making them. The stamps, dies and patterned paper are all made by The Stamps of Life.

The patterned paper is called Happy Collection, I used Star Dies to decorate the border of the vellum window, and added a few sequins to give the stars some sparkle.  I did the same for the ‘shaker’ part of the card.  The birthday candle and sentiment is also from TSOL called candles4birthday.  I think it turned out fun, bright and happy!

This card is actually for my husband’s aunt who is turning 98 years young and still going strong!  I thought she may enjoy ‘shaking’ it up a little;)  Thanks for stopping by today!  I enjoy and appreciate all questions and comments, so feel free to leave one. I hope you have a wonderful day.  Until next time…. Happy Stamping!

“Ruff” Times

Hello!  I just got back from a wonderful family vacation from Ocean City, MD and Delaware.  The beaches are just beautiful there and the weather was just perfect!  Sadly, only one of my three boys were able to come, but we did have several other family members join us. I came home on Saturday to find my new stamp set in my mailbox!

Today I’m sharing a couple more “Cookie” cards made by Stephanie at The Stamps of Life.  I’ve had the birthday4cookie stamp set for a while now, but I mentioned a post or two ago that she came out with a coordinating set. It’s called birthday4cookie&treats4cookie.  In my opinion, you can’t have one without the other!  Ahhhh… one more item scratched off of my wishlist:)

I made this card for a special family member who is going through a very difficult time right now… I hope it brightens her day, even if it’s just a little bit.  To create this flip-it card I used Fancy Frames Flip-Its Card #2 and my new stamp set.  I left the inside blank to write a little message.

This next card was so much fun to make!!! I used several other stamps and dies from The Stamps of Life.  I wanted Cookie to be looking out a window so I trimmed down the Sizzix Window Die & Stamp Set.  I created curtains by using Sizzix Borders and attached the baker’s twine to “fancy up” the valance. Then I added the speech bubble which is from Sizzix Bird and Tree Set and stamped miss you on it.  That sentiment from hot4balloons fit perfectly on it.  I still wasn’t satisfied, so I decided to add the flowers with hopes that it would resemble a flower box.  Yup… that was what it needed.  The flowers were made using a die from Friends Forever Step-Up.  The background and sentiment is one of several in this new set.  I’m very pleased with how my card turned out, sometimes those cards you have no direction with become favorites.  This was especially true for me after I finished it.

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today. Feel free to leave me any questions or comments, I love to hear from you!  Until the next time, I hope you have a wonderful day.  Happy Stamping to you!

Smiley Hello

Hello!  Today I’m sharing a happy card with you, that’s filled with smiles and sunshine!  I used my faces4stamps made by The Stamps of Life, as well as Sizzix Triplits Dies-Hello Sunshine for the sun and outside sentiment.  I created my background by simply stamping many different smiles in different colors. Then I die cut the circles and layered them adding the sun and “Hello Sunshine”.  There are a few different sentiments that go with this set, including some frowns.. I focused on the smiles today choosing this sentiment for the inside: Your smile makes the day brighter!

IMG_1506

I think this card is bright, colorful and cheerful!  I have someone in mind to send it to, and hope that it makes her smile!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I love and appreciate your visits, questions and comments.  I hope I have inspired you to maybe go and make your own “happy” card.  Until the next time… Happy Stamping!

Let’s Get Together

Hello!  Today I’m sharing a card with you that I made for a friend.  I started out by making one card, but was having so much fun I decided to make two!  I have a childhood friend that I get together with once every summer.  The sad thing is that she doesn’t even live far away from me…life just gets so busy!  We always go out for coffee and breakfast, so I thought this would be the perfect stamp set to use.

This stamp/die set is called coffee4two and can be found at The Stamps of Life.  There are different sentiments that you can put on the front of your coffee cup, but I chose to use the same one for both.  It also has a little mini coffee cup stamp too, that’s really cute.

IMG_1503

This first one I used my whale2stamp set to create the background paper. Next I used my Fiskars punch to add the anchor.  The inside sentiment says: Hope to ‘sea’ you soon!

IMG_1502

I wanted this card to be fun and bright, which is why I chose orange, yellow and green.  In addition to the stamps, I used a couple of dies from TSOL called Mini Flower Dies and the die cut sentiment is part of Sizzix Regal Stand-Ups Card Die Set.  The label that I die cut is also made by Sizzix, but I bought it at a yard sale, and I have no idea what it once coordinated with.  It was selling for 25 cents, so I scooped it up along with some other goodies!

I hope you like my coffee cards.  I LOVE my coffee, and can’t have it right now (sniff…sniff)!  I’m doing a clean eating challenge at my gym right now, and any form of coffee isn’t allowed, along with many other things.  For the next week my new best friend is herbal teas, which I’ve come to enjoy, but it doesn’t replace my morning coffee! Feel free to leave any questions or comments, I love and appreciate hearing from you.  Until the next time…Happy Stamping!

I’m Sorry…

Hello!  Happy Friday!  I hope the day is as gorgeous where you are, as it here.  On a scale of one to ten, it’s a perfect score!  Isn’t this the cutest puppy ever?  I made her using The Stamps of Life set called birthday4cookie&treats4cookie.  Stephanie just came out with a coordinating set that goes with this cute pup, Cookie.  It’s on my wish list and I plan on ordering it next week!  It’s one of those stamp sets that I find myself using all the time.  I made this card yesterday, just for fun.  The little speech bubble is a single die that I bought at Michaels a long time ago.  For the sentiment inside the bubble, I used crayons2stamp and made the paws using my cat2stamp set.  No fussy cutting… I used the matching dies to cut everything out!  I’m so spoiled, I very seldom ever cut anything out by hand anymore!

IMG_1496

I can’t decide if Cookie looks guilty or cute in this card LOL…

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I love your visits and truly appreciate all of the questions and comments you leave me.  Have a wonderful day/night and Happy Stamping to You!!!!

You Color My World

Hello!  Today I had a fun day of card making with some friends.  I decided that I wanted to use a stamp set that has been lying dormant on the shelf for a while….  I’ve made some cards with set, but not nearly enough, so I decided to take it out today. My friends are new to stamping, die cutting and card making, and I thought this would be a simple and fun card for them to make.  Everyone varied their color palette and was thrilled with their end products, which made me happy. The stamp set we used is called brushstrokes2stamp.  There are other sentiments and brushstrokes, but we used only one.  We also used Large Rectangle Dies to create perfect layers, Sizzix Triplits Die-Hello Sunshine, kites2fly stamp/die set and the flowers were cut using Friends Forever Step-Up Die.  Everything can be found over at The Stamps of Life.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Any questions or comments are always appreciated!  I hope I inspired you to maybe take a stamp set out that you may have forgotten about, or just haven’t used in a long time….. Happy Stamping!!!!

“Flipping” for Watermelon

Hello!  Today I decided to share two last watermelon cards with you before I put this set away for a bit.  A friend of mine is putting together a summer themed raffle basket, and asked me if I would be willing to donate some summery cards to add to it.  What better choice than  my Stamps of Life club set watermelon2stamp cards?  I’ve posted several versions over the past few days, and decided to make these to add to my donation.  My friend was very happy, and I hope the winner of the raffle basket will be too!  Flip Its are so much fun!

IMG_1212

Other than the patterned paper, all the supplies I used can be found over at TSOL.  I used Sizzix Circle #2 Flip-It Card Die, Sizzix Borders and Button Dies.  On the flip side of the circle, there’s space for you to write your message.

IMG_1214

This is a fun step-up card!  Again, everything I used other than the paper can be found over at TSOL.  The die used to make this fun style of a step-up card is called Friends Forever Step-Up Die Card Set.  I also used strawberries2stamp/die set and Sizzix Flower Layers & Leaf Die Set.  I think I may have to duplicate some of these to keep for myself!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I always appreciate and love your comments and questions:)  Until the next time… Happy Stamping!

The Sweetest of Days

Hello!  I’m back again today to share even MORE watermelon cards!  If you have been visiting over the past few days, you’ll notice I am in love with my July Club Set from The Stamps of Life.  The possibilities are endless with this watermelon2stamp/die set!  Who would think?  I love the “fresh and summery” look to these cards.

IMG_1466

Who wouldn’t want to celebrate with a refreshing watermelon drink on a hot summer’s day?  I made this card using TSOL Scalloped Edge Drop-Ins Die Set, Triplits Die “Hello Sunshine,” Tags and words, and lastly to create my straw I used the arm from snowman2build.  Fun, right?….. I added a little twine and was done!

IMG_1453

This next one would brighten anyone’s day!  Along with my club set I used Royal Stand-Up Card Die Set, Mini Flower Dies and Sizzix Borders.  I added matching brads in the flower centers and that completed my card.  So fast and easy to assemble, but it looks like so much more!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend doing whatever makes you happy:)  I love to hear from you, and always appreciate you leaving me a question or comment!  Happy Stamping!!!

More Watermelon and Summer Time

Hello!  I said I would be back with some more Stamps of Life July club set cards, and here they are!  The set is called watermelon2stamp.  I’m sure these won”t be the last of them, because I’m having soooo much fun with this stamp set, not to mention summer and watermelon are two of my favorite things!

IMG_1203

Isn’t this sweet?  In addition to watermelon2stamp, I used a flower border from the Friends Forever Step-Up Card die set by Sizzix/Stephanie Barnard.  I added a little button to the corner, tied some twine, and was done!

,IMG_1204

This card is simple, but sweet!  I used the Scalloped Edge Drop-In Die for the base of my card by Sizzix/Stephanie Barnard.  I created my sentiment and watermelon using watermelon2stamp, and lastly added the fun pinwheel I had in my stash.  I like the “softness” of the colors I used on this one.

IMG_1206

This card was fun to make.  It reminded me of the battle of your “favorite season”!  All stamps and dies are made by The Stamps of Life.  I used tictactoe2play for my game board and “You Win” sentiment, the glittery snowmen are from stamps2build, and the banners are from a set called chalksayings2stamp. I colored and fussy cut the watermelon out for game pieces and stamped “Happy Summer” both from watermelon2stamp.  Of course I was the winner of this game, because without a doubt, summer is my favorite season!!!

IMG_1444

Lastly, I made this card.  All the stamps are from watermelon2stamp.  Don’t you love the little bite out out of the watermelon?  It was a quick card to make, but I think it’s really cute!  The lacy oval I stamped on is a die made by spellbinders.  I added my twine and flowers, and that was it, I was finished!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I love and appreciate all questions and comments.  Have a wonderful day and Happy Stamping to you!

I’ll be posting more cards in the days to come, so be sure to check back!  I’ll be using some different sentiments that come with the set, and a cute little watermelon border stamp.  For both of these cards, I used some additional dies from The Stamps of Life.

For this card I used the “Hello” die from bicycle2stamp, Mini Flower Dies, and Sizzix Triplits Die-Hello Sunshine
